AS Interface


The Actuator/Sensor Interface (AS-Interface) is a replacement for conventional wiring systems, designed to significantly reduce installation and startup times while increasing diagnostics. AS-Interface utilizes a 2-conductor flat cable to supply power to field device (I/O blocks, encoders, and even safety devices.) Installations based on AS-Interface posses several advantages including:

Only one 2-conductor cable is needed to connect hundreds of I/O points
Standard I/O and safety devices coexist on a single network
Superior noise immunity
Fast and deterministic update times

AS-Interface ensures reliable data transmission in demanding industrial applications. The unshielded, non-terminated network allows adding and moving I/O points any time, even under power.

Logic Control Units
